It has an external dimension of 52.75″H x 17.75″W x 31.56″D and a storage space of 1.9 cubic ft. It can fit letter-sized (8.5” x 11”) documents, and the drawers showcase high sides that fit hanging folders; therefore, you don’t need additional file frames. This file cabinet also features a 2-position catch, allowing access to a single drawer while the others remain locked.
Passed severe tests for fire, explosion, and impact resistance
Besides securing your files, this 603-pound file cabinet can also protect your important documents during a sudden misfortune event like a fire. FireKing 4-1831-C underwent severe tests to prove its durability and fire-protection capability. This unit was under a fire-resistance test putting in an exterior temperature of 1700° F for 1 hour, an explosion test under 2000°F, and a 30-foot drop impact test. It also features oven-dried gypsum insulation that is asbestos-free, providing long-term protection and eliminating corrosion.
Verified water-resistant
Water coming from equipment stopping a fire from spreading also causes damages to the documents. You need suitable storage to protect your files from fire and water damage in locations with sprinklers, fire extinguishers, and fire hoses present. Certified water-resistant, FireKing 4-1831-C underwent a test that subjected it to two different situations. One environmental condition was under a 15-minute test with up to 1,000 gallons of water spray, and the other one was leaving it standing under 6 inches of water for one hour.
