Burglary-resistant
This safe’s body features a 2.31″ double-wall steel construction. Its door boasts an overall thickness of 1-1/2″ with a solid 1/2″ steel plate. AMSEC BFS1512Ealso carries a UL Residential Security Container (RSC) Burglary Classification. This certification signifies that this unit offers burglary protection and can resist entry using common mechanical tools. Additionally, it survived a rigorous 5-minute performance test conducted by one man using various tools less than 18 inches in length. Some of the tools used to attack the unit physically include adjustable wrenches, pry bars, screwdrivers, punches, hammers (with 3 pounds or lighter head weight), and chisels.

AMSEC BFS1512E1 has a certification and verification for fire protection. It passed a test that exposed the unit under an external temperature of 1700 degrees F for up to 60 minutes. The interior temperature did not exceed 350 degrees F, and at this level, paper materials will still not char or burn.
