Capable of holding 39 long guns
Bearing an RSC (Residential Security Containers) label, Gardall BGF6040 passed a 5-minute test where one man tries to physically attack the unit using mechanical tools typically found in the household. This 805-pound storage safe showcases an external dimension of 59.13″H x 40″W x 26″D. It also provides an ample storage space of 23.7 cubic ft. that can hold 39 rifles without scopes. This safe also comes with a multi-pocket door organizer where you can store ammo and pistols.
Fire and corrosion resistant
Gardall BGF-6040’s steel body has a matte black powder coat finish. This paint went through a thermal curing process, unlike the liquid types, making it more resistant to flame. It also provides excellent corrosion resistance. This gun safe has a 60-minute fire rating and passed an endurance test under an external temperature of 1,400°F. During the trial duration, it maintained an interior heat below 350°F and protected the contents inside. It also features 2 layers of ½” fireboard insulation and an intumescent door seal. This seal expands to 7x bigger than the original size, and it can fill the gap around the door so it won’t catch on fire quickly. It also prevents the fire from spreading through the gaps around easily.
Durable body construction
Showcasing its steel construction, Gardall BGF-6040 meets the standard requirement of a quality gun safe. It has a durable 11-gauge body and ¼” steel door. The door is also pry-resistant with its active 9 1 1/2” bolts. It also includes 3-way locking bolts (top, middle, bottom) that secure the door into the safe’s body. For better security and stability, utilize its anchor holes during installation.
Choice of mechanical or electronic lock
Depending on your preference or locking requirement, you can use the standard mechanical lock that comes with this safe or upgrade it to S&G Titan electronic lock. The standard mechanical lock can save you money because it doesn’t need batteries or a power source to function. On the other hand, the electronic lock offers convenience and ease of use without hurting your hands or wrist.
